This week has been one of the busiest I’ve had in a while.

Monday evening was full council, we discussed the financial position of the council and heard some good contributions from the leader and deputy leader telling the council just how much pressure the Government is putting on Fylde’s budget – especially the free bus travel scheme which should be funded by the government and not local tax payers. We also voted to lower car parking charges in Lytham and St Annes during the Christmas period to give local traders a boost during the festive period and during the made in Britain recession.

Tuesday evening was the management team meeting of Fylde Conservative Party, we talked about how we were going to run a membership drive and hold fundraisers amongst other things.

Wednesday evening we had a special group meeting to go over the budget for next year.

Thursday we the Wesham public meeting. About a 100 local residents came out on a cold night to voice their 100% opposition to the building on agricultural land north of Mowbreck Lane. Some really good arguments were raised and it feels like my ‘Wesham is full’ argument is supported by local people.

And tonight I’m attending a fundraising dinner for Ron Bell, the parliamentary candidate for Blackpool South.  Ron is a great guy and I am sure he’ll give Gordon Marsden a good beating whenever the election is called.
