At a Lancashire Locals meeting the other week, you may be surprised to hear that Lytham and St. Annes Conservative Councillors voted to spend extra money in Wesham. Two sections of Wesham’s roads are due to be resurfaced. This work, valued at £121,000, will be carried out shortly on parts of Station Road and Garstang Road North. Before the meeting I e-mailed my Conservative friends on the committee and urged them to support the schemes. They all did and Wesham’s schemes are top of the list.
I just feel sad that no schemes in Kirkham, Newton, Clifton or Treales were put forward, this may be an issue of political influence, or rather lack of it, as I know there are poor roads that need sorting.
The other issue is, if Labour had not invested £10 million in Iceland, maybe we’d have the money needed to sort all our roads out?
