On Wednesday of this week I attended the regular Fylde Cabinet Meeting.  We had a number of positive items on the agenda, including the regulation for hold funds for Community Groups.  This is important to get the procedures right for the forming of Friends groups.  I took the opportunity to speak about the great awards Fylde has had for the quality of its parks.  I also stated that next in the pipe line for a friends group will be the Memorial Gardens in Kirkham and Fleetwood Road Playing Fields in Wesham.

Another issue was the review of Parkwise, Lancashire Partnerships of Councils parking enforcements, I made the point to the cabinet member who’s responsible for parking that we welcomed more common sense in parking enforcement and that we need to change the policy on drive away offenders, these are people who park in disabled bays, but drive away while the ticket is being written.  Disabled bays need protecting, especially in Kirkham, for disabled drivers.
