I went down on Friday to the skate board park to take some pictures while the kids were at school and it was not being used. I then went down on Saturday and met up to the local PCSO Jacqui Marwick. There were also about 40 young people have a great time.
Jacqui was saying how popular the park was and what an effect it was having on the young people who were using it in taking responsibility. One had moved the litter bin closer and they all had done a litter pick just before I turned up. There are a couple of little tweaks that are needed, like having a tarmac path from the car park to the skate park, and of course getting the litter bins and benches sorted. But by and large this is a great success.
We now need community volunteers to come forward and form a friends group. By forming this group more money can be bid for and the success of this park can be built upon.
