Rural Fylde Conservatives have learnt of a sharp decline in detection rates of violent crime across Lancashire.  Back in 2001 nearly 3/4 of all violent crime ended in a detection, now it’s just 61%.  This is a damning indictment of New Labour’s crime and disorder strategy, and has lead to the sharp increase in knife crime across the country.

Commenting, Councillor Simon Renwick says,

“New Labour have let us all down over crime.  They promised, as ever, so much and have, as always, delivered so little.  Violent crime is another example.  They early release scheme has to stop.  The Conservatives would scrap the ID Card scheme and spend the money on more prisons, more police and better drug rehab.  Only the Conservatives can stop Labour, and that’s at County Hall as well as Westminster.”
