Today, Councillor Simon Renwick has signed the BMA petition against polyclinics.  He visited Kirkham Health Centre, where he discussed the concept with the Practice Manager before signing the petition.  Polyclinics may work in some areas, but in Rural Fylde they’d see at least one surgery close adding to a loss of local services.

Commenting, Councillor Renwick said,

” I was delighted to sign the petition.  The governments determination to press ahead with this is bewildering.  They’ve closed post offices, their policies are seeing local pubs close, local banks are going and all in all local people are getting a raw deal.  Polyclinics are another nail in the coffin of local services.”
