The High Court has ruled that the Government could be breaching soldiers’ human rights by sending them out with defective equipment.

Liam Fox, the Shadow Defence Secretary, said this marked a “new low” in Labour’s treatment of the Armed Forces.

And he stressed:

“It should not take a court ruling for the Government to realise that it has a responsibility and a moral obligation to ensure that when it sends troops into harm’s way, they are the best trained and best equipped in the world.”

Liam recently launched a commission to examine the health of the military covenant and look at ways Government and society can better support the Armed Forces.
